I just tried it with optical and I'm getting dropouts there too.

Someone else mentioned improving the "buffering" capabilities but I have
no clue how to go about doing that.

When I had the SBT hooked up by USB, the "Digital Output" settings page
in the Advanced menu "recognised" my NAD 1050 DAC. If I played a 192
file, the NAD display would "lock in" the signal at 192. Then I would
get periodic dropouts but the SBT didn't tell me anything was
"buffering".

When I connected through optical, I went to the Digital Output menu and
selected "Digital Only", which I think is what I'm supposed to select.
Again, the DAC recognised the 192 file and the display confirmed it.
Then the dropouts start....even more than by USB. This time, the SBT
display shows at the top that it's rebuffering, which it didn't show
when connected to USB.

So, when a previous member suggested that it's a buffering issue, the
display seems to be confirming that, at least when connected via
optical.

So......is there a relatively simple way to make adjustments to the
buffering problem? If it's complex, I'll likely get lost.

Hmm..I love the way this DAC sounds, but at least my old DAC that maxed
out at 24/192 would downsample 192 files and play them without any
issues at all.
