Thanks. I tried different selections, and it didn't eliminate dropouts. At least the DAC itself sounds much better than my last one with files I can play USB. I may need to go with coax for higher rez, or just go straight USB out of my Macbook to the DAC. I'll have to explore the "kernel" thing a bit more.
