any reason you don't want to simply add a router to your location (even
without the internet connection). Then you can connect the PC to the
router and the Touch can be placed anywhere (connected via WIFI). And
you have the added benefit of using your smart phone (via wifi) to
control the TOUCH.  Seems like this would make things easier. And a
router with WIFI is cheap enough ($25 to $50 or so).  And one doesn't
need an internet connection. The Router simply creates a network within
your home.
