External DAC's are a waste of money IMO; tried a few and couldn't hear much difference. I've recently had a massive cull of my HIFI equipment and now just have my PC feeding music files to my Touch, which then go to active speakers. Simple set up and sounds fantastic. Just an iPhone or similar plugged into them sounds brilliant. It's the way forward IMO and no more upgrading nonsense for me.
