Yes. Get the SBT working at a basic level with a PC based LMS before you decide how to go forward.
A few points though. You have a MyBook and are thinking about installing LMS on that. It probably doesn't have the power to do what you may want in the long run but it is a decent enough NAS. The cut down LMS in the SBT is just that - cut down. The library has to be attached by USB and is limited size wise by the SBTs onboard memory. Plugins may be an issue. So once you have got a basic setup working and understand what's going on I would suggest you look at a Pi with Max2Play as your LMS but keep your files on the MyBook. This is easily setup within the Max2Play web interface. Provided that both the Pi and NAS are wired it will work fine. Then you can use the SBT & EDO for what they are good at - playing music. *Vortexbox LMS 7.8 music on QNAP TS419p via NFS* iThingys/iPeng/Tablets *Living Room* - SB3 -> Onkyo TS606 - > Celestion Ditton F20s - Zone 2 -> Sony TA FE 320 -> Sennheiser RS 130 & B&W P7 *Office* - RPi -> Sony TA FE320 -> Celestion F10s / SB3 -> Onkyo CRN 755 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes *Dining Room* -> SB Boom *Kitchen* -> UE Radio (upgraded to SB Radio) *Bedroom (Bedside)* - SB Touch -> Topping TP21 -> AKG Headphones *Bedroom (TV)* - Amazon Fire TV (SB Player) -> Topping TP20 -> Wharfedale Modus Cubes ------------------------------------------------------------------------ d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104388 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
