That is your opinion. I can clearly tell the difference between the SBT analogue output and my offboard DAC, and that's my opinion. Get angry all you like but your opinion is no more valid than mine because you don't have proof there is no difference either. Let's face it, even the squeezebox team chose a DAC. They didn't just pick the cheapest one, they chose one they thought would be the best for their application. There is a difference between legit modification such as changing the fundamental design of major components (e.g. choosing a sonos instead of a sbt) and the guys who try to sell you half tennis balls for fifty quid or digital coax cables for a grand. The former are people experimenting with real changes (maybe not improvements - that is a totally different debate) but certainly /changes/ to the sound, the latter are peddling snake oil and should be ignore. So, plenty of people can hear the difference between two DACs fed the same data in an otherwise unchanged system and you can measure the differences in their outputs. So is it any of your business whether they should spend that money or not? No. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ drmatt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59498 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105536 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
