Agree.   Your first step should be restoring your basic setup to what
you had before, using single router, with TP-link for ethernet over
powerline.  Once everything is working again, you should then take steps
to add a second WIFI Access Point in the area of the house where you are
having trouble reaching your network with your wireless device.

The second step above can be done with 
1. turning on WIFI access with TP-Link (evidently, but I don't have one)
2. Adding some second WIFI access point in the area you want.   Note
that a 2nd WIFI AP is *not* a second network (even if a different SSID
for WIFI).  It is still a connection to your ONE home network, with only
one router providing the connection to the outside internet *and* only
one router handing out IP addresses (i.e., has DHCP turned on).  This
2nd WIFI AP is wired with ethernet to the TP-LINK in the 2nd location
where you need to add better WIFI.  

But as suggested, get your basic system back working first.
