I've used both DHCP and static IP. In both cases I sometimes had internet connection and other times I did not. It didn't matter either way. As for setting up static IP, these are the instructions I wrote for my Transporter using a straight ethernet connection (switch or crossover cable): (Probably too much information, I'm just cutting and pasting what I have) In Windows: Goto Network and Sharing Center. Right click Ethernet and choose Properties. Double click on TCP/IPv4. Select: 'Use the following IP address' and change the IP address to 192.168.1.100 (for the last number stay in the 100 area) Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 (defaults to this). Leave Default Gateway blank. On the Transporter side of things... When choosing a network, choose Ethernet and then Static IP. When it can't find anything, it will ask you to configure manually. 192.168.1.103 (Player IP) 255.255.255.0 (Subnet mask - No need to change) 0.0.0.0 (Gateway - Not Used) 192.168.1.100 (Last setting...forget name. This is the PC's IP) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fizbin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58734 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110255 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
