Yes, these tabs were also the idea at first. I really like them in Amarok and other KDE apps. It is just I didn't find where this stuff is in KDE libraries and how to use them. Well I also didn't look very hard, but if nothing else, I will ask on KDE developers mailing list where to find this and if there are any cool tutorials on how to make these tabs. Thanks for the link to the blog entry that talks about this stuff. > Almost all KDE apps are single window programs. No sense to break with that > really. Nope, I didn't know about this meeting. Or maybe I did read about it and wasn't paying too much attention and completely forgot about it. I'll try to find more about it. I've already heard about this Tailor when I was adding Thousand Parsec project to Ohloh: http://www.ohloh.net/projects/3679 I tried to add source repositories but they only support SVN and CVS. So if there is a SVN repository for TP somewhere (I guess read-only would be enough) it would be great to know so that I can add it. > Yeah, good things. One thing is that they might not take too kindly to yet > another dependency. I can see Parsek becoming a rather large app as well. Yeah you are right about yet another dependency. Maybe I should also ask on KDE Games developers mailing list what do they think about all this. > As mithro mentioned, if it is in kde svn they there needs to be a > strong "connection" back to tp. But really it doesn't matter where it is. > Tricky.... Absolutely. When Parsek gets a homepage there will be a very visible link to TP, and I also plan to make this clear also in About window in Parsek. Maybe it should even have it's own additional About Thousand Parsec project window. Parsek after all is based on TP project framework as it is on KDE/Qt framework. > Of cause this also goes beyond just where the code is. Will you release under > TP or KDE (or both)? Bug(zilla| tracker)? etc. Yup, even without programming it is a lot of decisions to make when you start a new project. A lot of fun and you learn a lot along the way. > Up to you. Yes. I'm just trying to gather as many opinions as possible before making my decision. I will also ask on KDE Games developers mailing list and after I hear their opinions I will try to think about all of this and decide where to put the code. In a day or so I should have the decision.
