Has anyone got any thoughts on this? Shall I lodge a feature request?
Should I post this to the dev group too?
Yes: I personally like the possibility to edit the defaut Wiki pages
(to add some site-specific info) and I therefore do not want the pages
to be static.
I agree with this. For example on my server (serving multiple trac
instances) I have certain configuration relating to the login. So I
want the Trac help pages to seamlessly display this information. Under
my proposed scheme I would edit the *static* HTML pages to show the
information. Why would it need to be a wiki? The point of a wiki is
that any users can come along and edit it as they see fit, not for ease
of editing by the site admin! In fact if you want to put extra help
info in the wiki and you don't want users changing it, you would have to
make the page read only.
I'll have a look at #2656
Thanks for the comments.
Regards,
Felix
