It could make for an easy way to get NMEA out of a T2 while connected to a
GPS running the Garmin protocol. It the PCB was tacked down inside, a cable
with a connector could come out the 'power' hole.

Ok, I want just the PCB! (loaded of course). :)

I haven't been following the GTRANS information really at all. Can I select
only the sentences I am interested in? Just curious, not a requirement.

Thanks!

Best regards,
Fred

Hmmm.. probably. You can't do just one device if it's listen-only,
since it has to tell the nuvi to start talking. Both the GTRANS and the
T2 will keep track of how long it's been since they've heard from the
nuvi and after about 11 seconds of no activity they'll send the start
command. But regardless of which device sends the start command, once
it starts they should both be happy.

The only potential problem I see is the product request packet - both
devices want to know what format to send waypoints in and will request a
supported protocol list. But again, as long as they're both powered on
at the same time, they should both get the response. And even if the
GTRANS misses it, I don't think it'll care - it just won't be able to
create waypoints, which it can't do with a listen-only connection anyway.
