Go back to the seller and find out what happend to the car mount as it is part
of the package, period. It is the only way to power the Nuvi unless a serious
modification to the unit is made. Each mount is specific to the Nuvi series. If
the seller has put the mount on sale then a comment should be made to that fact
in their review and get that person to caugh up the mount.

The mini-USB socket on the side of the unit can be used for charging the
battery with the AC adapter but that is the data socket too. The Gtrans cable
and the FMI cable draw their power from the Nuvi when plugged into the side
socket. The Nuvi determines what the device is by checking the ID pin in the
cable and setting the Nuvi internal circuitry accordingly. For example, it
recognizes its own AC adapter since there is 15K ohms to ground and 15K ohms to
VCC from the ID pin. The Gtrans and FMI cable have an 8.2K ohm resistor to
ground from the ID pin. The Nuvi puts itself into USB Mass Storage mode if
there is nothing on the ID pin and it sees USB traffic from an upstream HOST.

You "might" be able to get a replacement mount from Garmin but go back to the
seller first.
