The Netherlands currently have a simple transient limiting requirement for pulse
dialling. This requires voltage spikes during pulse dialling to be limited to
below 130V.

However, as pointed out, the vast majority of telephone subscribers in the
Netherlands now have access to DTMF (in fact it may be 100%). In our
experience, some companies do decide to remove pulse dialling as a feature
because of this in order to keep product cost down.

Luxembourg will accept approvals from various European member states as the
basis for issuing a Luxembourg approval. The issue of changing standards in
other member states is ignored by the Luxembourg authorities.

Hope this helps

Dear treg members,

Until recently Holland had wave-shaping (Mute) requirements for terminal =
equipment attached to the PSTN. In order for our products to satisfy =
these requirements, additional circuitry was necessary.

It has recently been brought to my attention that these requirements no =
longer existed in Holland (because Holland is now primarily DTMF). Can =
anyone confirm that these pulse dialing requirements no longer exist for =
PSTN terminal equipment?

Additionally, what, if any, does this rule change have on Luxembourg =
PSTN TE approvals? (Before this change, approval in Luxembourg was =
obtainable with a Holland approval.)

Thank you, in advance, for any support provided.

Sincerely,

Mark Murphy
