Okay .I have a project for any of the electrical engineers out here who want to think on it. My company is looking for a way to tell whether or not someone is currently in our building. We have looked at a few systems, such as the ones that hospitals use, but they are well out of our price range. What I would like to to is set up a base transmission/reception unit, that will send and recieve rather weak radio waves, and set up each employee with a small unit that fits on either their keyring or their pager, that will respond to these weak radio waves when it recieves one. When they are outside of the radius of this thing, and they do not respond, I need it to change their status on the board to 'out'. If anyone knows of a way I might accomplish this with components, or of any radio restrictions which would impinge on this setup, I would appreciate your feedback. I've never tried something like this before, and I could use all the help I can get.
