No. The EFTA (European Free Trade Association) was the balance of the European Countries not in the original EC-12. The EEA is the total of the EFTA plus EC (EU) countries. Now the EC is 15 countries with Sweden, FInland and Austria having joined as full members. Norway is not part of the EC but still a member of EFTA and the EEA. EFTA, EEA and EC or EU are only European. IEC is world- wide. Just to confuse the issue, the EU or European Union is the formal countries that comprise the European Government. The EC is larger as it encompasses associate members such as Lichtenstein, Malta, etc. Hans
