While I'm all in favor of putting something relevant in the subject line, the
problem is that it's unenforceable until after the fact, and then it's too
late. Perhaps if this group was moderated, but I don't think any of us want
that! I'd just settle for more messages having a specific subject. It does
bug me when all I see is "Question" or "Treo" or even "Proposal" as the subject
as I have no idea what it's about...

Subject: RE: [Treo] A proposal

Hey, I thought Craig said it was all about me!! :-)

I'm not sure I could stick to the discipline of a convention like that.
However, it is always in the poster's best interest to be specific about
the device in question so that poster can get an accurate answer back.

For ex:

Q: "I want to know what the largest battery is I can get for my Treo"

A: "what Treo do you have?"

A: "Treo 600"

A: "you dummy, it's a fixed battery like the iPod"

A: "DOH!"

A: "But there is that big ugly sled external battery thing"

A: "OK"

Vs.

Q: "I want to know what the largest battery is I can get for my Treo"

A: "The only option is that big ugly external sled battery thing"

You get the idea. It's like asking what the largest card is that will
work in a . . . OH, let's not go there again!!

Cheers,

Don

So it's all about "you", then. ;-)
