Thanks, Sam. I didn't know you could forward IM messages that way. I actually
use Trillian, but downloaded AIM in order to set up mobile forwarding. I tried
getting a coworker to IM me after I had signed off, but it didn't work. He
uses Trillian to. So I signed on to AIM again but using a different account
and when I sent something it went through, so I wonder if it only works if you
send it through AIM? That wouldn't be so great, especially since I know a
bunch of people who use Trillian. Oh well, guess something is better than
nothing...

I use it extensively for AOL IM forwarding. This allows me to be
reached via IM at any time without running an IM client on my treo
(which would eat the batteries).

For short conversations AOL's IM forwarding lets you respond back via
SMS; if I need to have a longer chat or if I need to initiate a chat
instead.

And my wife now loves being able to ask me questions via SMS when I
can't answer the phone, such as during meetings and such.

And even as an SMS user, I can still spell :-)

BTW - are you all aware that the treo has some built in
auto-substitutions that make it easier to type? Check out this message
from last year if you are interested...
