I had a 650 and now a 680. Although I remember seeing the "Always route"
option on the 650, I can't right now find it on the 680. Nonetheless, it
must be active because if the BT headset is within range, all calls
**which I answer** go there. That's the way I like it -- except when the
680 is in my hand and the BT headset is in another room, in which case I
have to be quick about canceling BT and activating the speakerphone.

I sometimes have the problem you describe with Hotsyncing by BT. I'm not
surprised Palm blows it off, but it's usually cured after I've rebooted
the computer. Of course, I've probably also rebooted the 680 (and before
it the 650), so that could be a coincidental fix.
On the other hand, my Inspiron 6000 has had other BT problems from time
to time, and even setting it up is a bit tricky, so I have to believe
the occasional "other port" problem to be at least partly on the
computer end of the equation. Others may have more input to that, and I
for one wouold love to see it. Again, my experience with more comptuer
companies than Palm leaves me unsurprised at the blow-off.
I recently had a similar experience with iGo. Never did get that
resolved. Unfortunately, I gave up on the keyboard problem **after** I
could not longer return the device to where I bought it.
Still, those aggravations have for me been minor. I like that BT headset
takes the call all the time, -- which may explain why my 650 never had a
problem with the speaker plug -- and I'm normally within range of a
cradle to Hotsync (one on my desk at home and another at work).
