Without actually reading the KB, I can say --
There is a writing area on the 680 - where you use the stylus to do 
whatever the stylus can do. In the case of Hotsync, you can select how 
to hotsync, and hit the actual activation button.
That's probably what it's talking about. For instance, if I have the 
USB, either the retractable I carry in my kit or the cradle on my desk, 
and I hit the cable/cradle mounted button, it hotsyncs by USB, even 
though if I'm looking at the hotsync dialog on the 680 it says it's set 
for the BT connection. But if I tap (or 5-way nav) to the dialog's 
hotsync button, it uses whatever's set from the drop list -- in this 
case the BT connection.
