It sounds like you don't need to troubleshoot BackupBuddyVFS anymore,
but if you do want to resurrect your investment, you might get closer
to an answer here if you could post the error messages and details of
when/how they occur.  And have you tried backing up to a smaller card?
If that works then maybe the card size, combined with the way 680
handles it, really is the issue.

But if NVBackup is doing what you want, this may just remain one of
life's mysteries.
