A simple question for the heavy discussion. How much music do u listen in a day? A week?
I have some stuff too, listened when I had transferred new, not much now. A little here and there. Use it for my kid. I don't understand why you don't understand. I have X number of CDs. From which I have X-N=Y amount of music in digital form on my computer. From there, I have Y-n=Za in one collection, which is mirrored onto my portable media player. As in I don't want it in my "portable" subset at all anymore. Forex, yesterday I decided I no longer wanted anything from Loreena McKennett in my portable set, so I moved everything from her from the subdirectory I use for my portable music to the subdirectory I use for everything else. Music library maintenance is done on the desktop and only on the desktop. The portable set is maintained by something that mirrors the desktop collection, or in the case of having less storage portably than on the desktop, something that will automatically randomize what gets on the card from a predefined set. I have 17G of music in my portable set for a reason, and there is a reason I have a 30G portable media player. I was testing out the ability to do this with the Treo with a 4G card to see how it would work. If it worked, I was going to get the 16G Patriot card via newegg.com which would hold almost all of my collection as it stands right now, and I'd only be missing a few hundred at a time. Like a personal radio station, minus the DJ and commercials. Using something that holds less than the full collection, the next best thing is to use something that will put a random selection onto the device. Winamp calls this "autofill". Windows Media Player calls it "random sync".
