I seem to recall from the TreoCentral discussion there are two 
phone-related files (or alike) you need to remove when doing the update. 
That was for the patched AT&T version but maybe it equally applies here 
in some cases.
I can not search right now to see what exactly it was (short of time), 
will do so later this evening.
