It doesn't happen often to me, but when it does, a computer reboot fixes
it. I find other things also happen on my XP Pro machine, and they all
seem to be do to what I call "memory overload." Too much going on. Too
many windows have been opened in the browser, too many documents in
Word, and too many programs entirely. In other words, I've been working,
and my computer has become confused. It happens every few days. A reboot
clears things up, including sudden failure to recognize previously
working USB devices.
