The treo is not showing up as a recognized device.  It shows up as an
unrecognized device. Will try to delete. To identify it I have to provide
the driver, when I tried that XP wouldn't accept Palmusb.sys as a valid
driver.

John/Bob - I did try all the 4 ports on my machine, multiple reboots, hard
resets and re-install of the Palm Desktop.
