That's just wrong — morally, not what Mike is saying. So, and I'm making these numbers up, instead of paying $100 for an OS that works, they include a crippled one for $50, and then let you "upgrade" to the working version for another $100. Now, you've spent $150 for a $100 OS. So now there is a financially troubled company making a reasonably competent OS, and a financially strong company overcharging its customers.
