Here's the sad part: Green laws and concerns aside, America can't build a nuclear plant right now. The trend in nuclear engineering is for students to get high paying jobs as soon as they get their Masters; they aren't continuing their education to get their PhDs. Second, we don't have a single foundry capable of casting the foundation of a nuclear plant. Every such foundry is overseas, and the wait for the necessary parts to be manufactured is years.
One expert said it would take 50 years to reverse these problems, starting with graduating some PhDs to become the professors to teach the engineers to rebuild the plants, rebuild the foundries, etc. Thanks, Greens, for making all this possible, including the anti-drilling laws. ......
