Just for the record, I looked once again this afternoon at something
non-Palm Treo. As much as I like new toys, and as much as there really
are some really cool looking devices out there (like the LG Vu I looked
at today, I remain in search of something that will do what my Treo will do:
= act as a modem (with PDA Net);
= keep my daily schedule, past, present and future, in fully
searchable, backupable, useable on my PC and Treo manner (with Datebook6.1);
= keep my daily journal in ways I didn't know I wanted (before
Daynotez);
= make my contact list searchable in several fields (with TakePhone);
= Help make outlines (Bonsai);
And that's only the really important stuff. So far, every time some
sales person has a new and wonderful phone, I ask will it do (something
from the above list) and the answer saves me several hundred dollars.
The 680 ain't pretty, and sometimes it gets confused when I install,
try out and uninstall several apps, and I have to reinstall everything
to straighten it out, but -
it's still better than anything else I've so far messed with.
