Actually, from what *I've* read (maybe we're seeing different things), Froyo/2.2 makes some really significant changes under the hood. One biggie is that it adds a just-in-time compiler, which, according to the testers, speeds it up dramatically. So, huge horsepower plus clearly superior processing code makes me think the ultra-responsiveness I've seen in videos is only going to get better. I've seen no reason to suspect the same is coming for webOS...at least not soon. > I feel Craig's pain about the > laggyness of the Pre (at least on Sprint - I get the sense that the Pre Plus > is less laggy, but I could be wrong). Me, too, but I've been on-board the Underdog Express since 1996, now, and the return on that investment is wearing extremely thin for me. > That alone probably wouldn't keep me with > them. After all, I'm quite sure I'll be able to sell my EVO after a week or two as I expect there to be more demand than supply at the outset. > If Palm/HP is still completely silent about when the next device will be > landing by Fall, I think it will start becoming increasingly difficult to > hold on. See, and this is ironic, webOS has actually made switching platforms *easier* because all my data is now in the cloud. So, as long as the device can sync to Exchange and Google, I'm good to go...changing is pretty painless. At least that's the theory...we'll see how reality matches up on June 4. ;-)
