Interesting.
I think the comparison with MacOS and Windows 7 is backwards, though. The Pre is very much like Apple - beautiful, and limited. Android is much more like Windows - almost as nice to look at, and much less limited. I'm having a lot of difficulty maintaining my enthusiasm for a platform that's been out for a year and still won't let me edit word/excel documents, can't fix the disappearing alarm problem, still won't let me sufficiently customize the way it buzzes and beeps and flashes. Not to mention the still-inferior hardware in almost every dimension, no voice controls, processor that can easily be made to run faster but isn't (unless I do scary things to it) and on and on. The limitations of the Pilot/PalmPilot in the early days were paired with a breathtaking simplicity that made the limitations OK. The limitations of the current WebOS version and devices is just annoying. I hope HP will make WebOS catch up and overtake its competitors - that would be great for everyone. I'm still buying an Evo, though. I might take it back on Monday, and I may buy another WebOS device in 3 months when/if HP comes out with something wonderful, but next Friday I'll be there at 7am! Biased? Sure! Still, for those of us who would rather stick with Palm if we can, it makes some good points: http://www.webosroundup.com/2010/05/yeah-ive-seen-the-htc-evo-but-im-stickin g-with-webos/ Levi Wallach blog: http://twelveblackcodemonkeys.com tweet me @dvdmon (http://twitter.com/dvdmon) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
