I wanted to thank everyone for their encouragement and clarity. I'll give
it a couple of weeks and see how it goes.

Thank you again, all.

I stream Pandora and Hooah! Radio (www.hooahradio.com) I'm sure there are
others available.

As I suspected, you've all been very encouraging, and I'm putting my sim
card BACK into the new Pre. I will try to trust the cloud, but isn't anyone
else worried about having all their personal information out on the web, in
the hands of some nameless conglomerate? I know this is an old topic, but
up until today it's been a complete abstract to me. Now it's real, and I
suddenly feel rather uncomfortable about it all, in an Orwellian context.

And what about streaming music? Is there any way to do that other than the
obscure apps I found in the AT&T app center?

And . . . why can't I do a search on this board any longer? Has Yahoo!
forsaken us?:D

Ditto that. No matter what you move to today, you're going to have to
go to the cloud. It's what Android, iPhone, and BB use as well. Local
sync is a thing of the past.

For a crutch, if you like using Outlook, but don't use an Exchange
server, I recommend CompanionLink. It will sync your local Outlook and
Google. Or you could be really retro like me - I sync my Google to my
Palm desktop!
