I had a miserable time getting my Pre to hook up and maintain a connection with my wireless home network. I had to delete and restart the connect to app 2 or 3 times each time, and enter and reenter the WAP (or is it WEP?) password to join. Even then, it dropped off almost every time, so much so that I moved to the 15 day free trial of CompanionLink USB software. That was a breeze, and it will automatically dump all your contact and calendar items before each sync before it repopulates them, so there will be fewer duplicate entries. THAT's something I've been fighting in Outlook and PalmOS for friggin' YEARS! I feel as though a light is beginning to illuminate for me with the Pre Plus, and I'm very glad I came back to my roots here to ask for help. Although not perfect, I'm starting to see the benefits of this unit over my HTC Tilt2 and WinMo - a call to my wife this morning while driving (I know, I know, but, c'mon, we've all done it before!) was far easier to make than even my Centro - and I didn't have to rely on the sometimes skittish built in voice dial on the AT&T Tilt. >>This is very true. Actually, my FIRST tip should have been the absolutely silly rubber mini-USB port cover - man, that'll last a whole 2 or 3 days, especially if I decide to go with the registered version of CL. My apologies if I've high-jacked the board these past two days, but I so wanted this phone to work, and thanks to you all it looks like it just might! Just thin, at this time yesterday it was already back in the box, waiting to be returned! Chuck B. I bought it when I first got the Pre because I thought I'd need/want to use some of the old Palm OS apps, but truth be told I never did. As for syncing with Outlook, I use PocketMirror for webOS to sync my local Outlook with the Pre via WiFi. Works great. And the tech support from Chapura is excellent and fast.
