Oh wow, that is a major limitation.  I didn't know that.  So if I'm in the
basement of some huge convention hall, where there's no cellphone service
down there, I wouldn't be able to access my notes.  

It's because of examples like this that I hesitate to use the Pre's /
Google's cloud services.  If you don't have Internet access, you're screwed.
Call me old-fashioned, but I really like having my data literally in my
pocket where I can get to it anytime, anywhere.

Downside of EN [evernote] (There has to be one) is no access to your notes
without access to Internet. Notes will store on the Mac, PC and EN server,
