Yeah. I have a recent model and as soon as I register it, it gets upgraded to version 1.2.1. I don't really need to register it, but I read that it's necessary for rooting (I may be wrong though). I finally succeeded in restoring the factory settings. My idea was to try to root it with the tools available and then try to install Cyanogen and eventually Replicant.
