You are right, "restricted" and "multiverse" components are readily available
by Ubuntu team but Ubuntu does not install them by default. It is *up to the
user* to install them or not. Ubuntu does not decide on behalf of users that
they must leave their freedom, Ubuntu just gives them the option to whether
install them or not. IMO, this procedure does not make a GNU/Liunx non-free.
