for various reasons (not very important) I am not a great fan of Geoffrey Filbert, author of Excalibur Revisited. But one thing he did write which struck me was to the effect that if you were on a spiritual path, you should not reckon to retain friends (I cant remember the exact quote). I very much sympathise /understand your viewpoint. Another friend wrote me in a mail that he did not feel greatly inclined to explain to people things which were perfectly obvious to him. Another aspect - a similar coin. I've never had a television, and it is long since I went to the cinema. On the other hand, I can help people (without their sharing my "higher" :-) reality) and I need others help in many things (aging people,. and fumble fingered people, tend to).
