Blainer) Seems logical to me that if I become like him, that is just another way of saying I will become a God. I always like to point out that I will still be subordinate to Him, however--that he will always be my God. There are several philosophies out and around that one of the chief motivating factors in human behavior is to achieve self-realization. This means we seek to achieve our highest potential. Christians who emulate Jesus fall into this category, and obviously are headed in the direction of becoming Gods, as that is what their Head and leader is, and wants them to become as He is. Did He not pray once that those who were his disciples might become one with him as he was one with the Father? Do not suppose that to become a God is to compete with the Father and/or the Son. It is simply to say that the all-enveloping love of Jesus Christ is such that he wants to share his glory with those who are willing to serve him in righteousness. But this in no way means that we are trying to supplant Him. We are simply trying to emulate him. This is not heresay--remember the saying, "Imitation is the highest form of a compliment." Likewise, to seek to become like unto God is the highest form of worship.
