No, it does not seem that way to me. To say that you will become "A" God implies independence. Jesus is not "A" God. Jesus "IS" God. I believe that we are to become one with God and like him in every way, but that will not make us "A" God in the sense that God is God. God is eternal, from everlasting to everlasting. We were created by God. That historical distinction must be kept in mind, or we will be in the same danger of following the error that Lucifer fell into when he determined that he was so glorified that he had become "A" God and could stand independent from the Father above.
