Glenn, think about these LDS concepts: Jesus is a god. His father is a god. Adam is a god, and all good LDS will become gods. In fact, the father has a father that is a god, who has a father that is a god, who has a father that is a god, infinitely back in time (which creates a problem of an infinite regression of gods...another non-biblical concept that denies an initial cause for the universe, a concept that is foundational to Christianity). I don't know about you, but I call this polytheism.

The LDS get around it by saying they worship only one of the infinite number of gods. That may be so, but it does not change the fact that they BELIEVE there are an infinite number of them. That is polytheism. And, the Bible does not say to worship only one of the infinite gods, it says there is ONLY one God. All others are FALSE gods.

In fact, if you want to take a look at this more closely, we find that Joseph Smith taught that Jesus' father lives on the planet "Kolob", and further, that good little LDS boys become gods, have multiple spirit wives, and make spirit babies to populate their own planets. Not only that, but Joseph Smith also taught that there were people living on the moon, and Brigham Young, the scientist that he was, claimed that there were even people living on the sun. What a hot topic! Talk about a tan!I'll bet the missionaries never told you that...in fact, they probably are not even be aware of these things (after all, they are not part of the standard works)!

BTW, I think I have discovered the source of Joseph Smith's belief that there were people living on the moon...it was not his original idea, and it was not revelation from god, but was the result of a hoax perpetrated in the early 1800s, and he fell for it. The prophet was duped. If anyone wants me to post the article about "The Moon Hoax" say so and I will.

To the TT LDS members...please, by all means, let me know if I have misrepresented any LDS facts. I am not shy about pointing them out, but I certainly want to accurately represent the truth.

Perry

Are you sure Mormons believe in Polytheism? I not doubting you, but it seems
DaveL has never admitted it. Or maybe he has admitted it, but he is too
smart for me to follow him.
