David,
I'm wondering what you mean by "shadow", etc. You think we still need to
obey God's laws, don't you? You don't lie, steal, commit murder, adultery,
etc., do you? God's laws have not been done away with have they?
I don't go around lying, etc. I USED to do that type of thing as a way of
life, but no longer, now that I am in Christ. Knowing Him should make us
more observant of God's laws than we were before, don't you think??? The
only difference is that I don't lie awake at night thinking I'm going to
hell when I fail--I have an Intercessor who pleads His Blood over my sins.
That doesn't mean I have a nonchalant attitude towards obeying God, however.
The more He forgives me, the joy I have in obeying Him! ("She who is
forgiven much, loves much!") Izzy
P.S. Regarding the Sabbath being "holy" or "sanctified"--that means "set
aside for holy use", as opposed to your regular workday. It does not mean
that we cannot worship God every day. Everything we do should be an act of
worship, whether we are resting or working. We were not told to worship on
the Sabbath, but to REST. Hopefully, we use our day of rest to reflect on
Him and His Word.
Exodus 35
2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to
you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein
shall be put to death.

Wow! There are no days sanctified by God EXCEPT Sabbath? We cannot worship
the Lord on Monday because it is a work day? Am I hearing you right on this
Marlin? Do you mean that if I heal the sick or preach the Word of God on
Monday that I have violated the Sabbath commandment?

Sure. I believe that the seventh day is a Sabbath day.

Sure. Primarily the fourth commandment is about sanctifying the seventh
day, but it does mention working six days.
Now will you answer a question for me? Are you willing to consider that the
seventh day Sabbath observance, and six work days preceeding it, are shadows
of something else that Jesus Christ revealed? Are you willing to consider
that this law was part of a covenant with Israel?

I've never said that Sabbath was every day, but I suppose those who do are
not stressing meeting on the day of Sun worship but rather stressing the
need to worship God every day. I don't follow your logic here.
Peace be with you.
