Izzy:
Just an afterthought. I think soul has to do more with conscience
than with consiousness. Animals feel and think and love and
protect and serve, but they have no conscience, no morals,
no inherent sense of right or wrong. Like the little boy said,
based on his experience,
"Never trust your dog to watch your sandwich."

Okay, how do you understand our souls to be different from animals? I think a soul is intellect, emotions, and will: all of which animals have. Isnt our soul that goes to heaven? Why would God create a living thing to destroy it? I have the impression that God never destroys a life, once created. For example, dont we believe that human souls live forever (either UP or DOWN). So why wouldnt animal souls live forever? Izzy

Animals do not have souls as we understand the word. When they die it's the end of the road. Either a stain on the pavement or a blob in the septic tank, unless of course, you are a frog. In that case, there is always the chance that you will end up a prince.

TTers, Hopefully you will be a bit more helpful with this question: What happens to animal souls after they die? Izzy
