jt: You've got a point there; what is it, righteousness, self control, and the judgment to come which is the wrath of God? ##It is in the OT and the NT. Solomon said that the whole duty of man was to fear God and keep his commandments. Jesus said not to fear the one that can destroy the body but instead to fear the one that can destroy both body and soul in hell-yea rather fear him. Romans 3:10-20 :v.17 And the way of peace they have not known:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. 20..for by the law is the knowledge of sin. In short- put the law of God on a unbeliever-it will teach (schoolmaster) them to fear God and then they will know they need a savior. In a study 89% of those that come under the love message fall away (ie. Ray Comfort study on salvation)-Yet those that come thur fear of God are appreciative toward God due to being saved from hell-these remain with God. The "come just as you are" message has failed to keep long term believers. One must come willing to change (called repenting)-with remorse for their sins.Can a Homo come just as they are? No they cannot. jt: OK, I see why you need to talk about the wrath of God against the unrighteousness of men but still believe that a homosexual can come just as they are - they can not stay just as they are, and neither can any of the rest of us. ## Dean: I could tell a sodomite that God loves them and it would be a lie. jt: No it would be the truth. Jesus died for sodomites, every one of them. Of course they will need to change, but then so do the rest of us. Sodomy is sin but so is anger, fear, covetousness, and all the sins of the flesh named in Gal 5:19 and people who do all those things don't inherit God's Kingdom either. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us, we can't comprehend such love. ##Dean writes: Angry is not sin "Be angry and sin not" (Eph 4:26)-but can lead to sin. jt: It's a work of the flesh along with fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, emnities, strife, jealousy, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkennessl, carousing etc. People who live there can't inherit the Kingdom. ## When I see a brother being hurt it angers me-but I cannot let that lead me to sin. True Jesus does love sinners but not all sinners-If Esau were present in the crowd-could I tell that crowd that God loves you all? Didn't God say he hated Esau (Mal 1:2)? jt: It would be true to say that God loved them enough to send the best He had to the cross to save them from His wrath. Esau was an old covenant person who despised the blessing. God draws near to those who seek Him as Jacob did. Since Esau despised the birthright God responded accordingly. God did not initiate this Esau did. ## It would be wrong to tell a crowd this message. I tell them that God's love is over HERE-you are over THERE-repent and come to the love of God if you are able-sadly some are not able-but thank God some are. Dean: He (the sodomite) would of course thank me and continue on with his life style.-but all men should fear God even Christians. jt: True Dean; but it doesn't do any good to tell a Sodomite or a Pagan that God loves them if you are judging them in your own heart - they always know. God expects us to demonstrate His love. After all Jesus didn't come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. ## As a Christian I must call down both the sin and the sinner-How can one decide right from wrong if one doesn't judge. jt: Isn't it possible to present two sides and allow them to make a choice? We will spend eternity with the one we serve and the two masters are the Lord of Life and the Prince of Darkness. Also we need to first judge ourselves? I didn't find that CNN thing a bit funny and it saddened me that some of you did. Michael Jackson is a mess, the product of a massively dysfunctional home and presently held captive by the powers of darkness. How can we claim to fear God while laughing at that caricature of another man's pain? ## Yes I am limited on the final state of the soul-God alone decides that-but I can and will warn of the danger of sin unto the fires of hell. One cannot come to God without repentance from sin.
