At one point Jesus asked them to believe him 'for the works sake' (John 10:37,38)   I readily agree with you that people will get stirred up and follow someone because of miracles.  I've seen this myself, but the motives of those who follow because of miracles are not always pure.  I'm trying to help you see that with John 6.   Judy: I'm not talking about stuff like seeing Jesus face in a taco, or seeing the virgin Mary on the side of a building, or even soup line bread.  I'm talking about the ministry of Jesus as per (Isaiah 61:1-3 Luke 4:18, Matt 11:5, John 3:34). This is the ministry the Church is responsible for.   The bottom line is that the message of repentance and rebuke IS part of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I agree with you about love too, but put them together.  To eliminate rebuke and the message of repentance is to change the gospel into something other than what Jesus preached.   Judy: I don't see Jesus himself out there with a message of rebuke and shame. In fact it is the opposite as demonstrated with the woman caught in adultery - the only ones I see him rebuking and calling snakes and foxes are the religious and political leaders who oppressed the ppl. Granted there is a place for this but it should happen in Washington D.C. Let the street preachers confront the Whitehouse and the Freemasonry embedded in Congress and the Sentate (the high places) along with the religious leaders such as the RC Cardinals who hold their Red Masses  in D.C. every year which greatly influence the powers that be.  If all these street prophets see themselves going out in the spirit of Elijah why are they sweating the small stuff?  God prepared Elijah for more than 3yrs alone in the wilderness and when he was sent out he went for the jugular.    There will be times when the crowds gather around.  Believe me, these preachers on the list know what I am talking about.  Some of us have experienced this but I suspect you have not.  There are also times when the crowds go away.  Jesus experienced all of this.  Don't think that because some go away that they must not be doing it the way Jesus did. Jesus experienced BOTH the gathering of crowds and the crowds leaving him.  Do you understand this and agree with me?   Judy: I don't doubt that they draw crowds DavidM.  Any public curiosity will draw a crowd.  The big question is - what effect do they have on these people and do they glorify or bring reproach to the Kingdom of God?   Grace mercy, and Peace, Judy
