Thank you Blaine for taking time to give us the run down. I've been hearing you guys for awhile so there were no real surprises to me, but it was nice to see it all laid out there like you did. Just so you know, not all Protestants believe hell is literal fire, and many Protestants also believe that Father God has a spirit body. I personally believe in the literal fire of hell because the Scriptures locate it in the heart of the earth and we know that the earth is hot in this way. I believe that God has a spirit body because there are so many references to God's shape and form, and also to his various body parts such as hands, feet, arms, fingers, eyes, mouth, lips, ears, head, hair, loins, voice, breath, tongue, etc. Jesus specifically refers to his shape in John 5:37, and in Revelation 4 John describes seeing him sitting on his throne. There are many passages that can be used to argue for him having a spirit body, but my time is limited so I have not taken up to make the case as the study of it is really quite exhaustive. I just wanted you to know that many Protestants who take the Scriptures literally readily acknowledge that God the Father has a shape and form known as a spirit body. Such is not a purely Mormon belief. Peace be with you. David Miller, Beverly Hills, Florida.
