How was I to know THE INTERPRETERS ONE-VOLUME COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLE was not acceptable to you?
You could have asked instead of assuming. I am not familiar with the book or author, so would have to see a copy before I accepted it.
If I used Ed Decker's Handbook of Mormonism, which I have on my bookshelf, to get my definitions of Mormon theology, would you accept that? (If you have not heard of Ed Decker, he wrote "The God Makers" and "The God Makers II". As a side note, I do not give Ed Decker much credence...I did not like some of the unsubstantiated accusations he made in The God Makers II. While I think that "The God Makers" contains some verifiable information, while reading his second book I came to feel he had a vendetta rather than a mission. As a result, I no longer feel I can rely on his work as reliable.)
Strongs Concordance usually has a dictionary in the same volume...if you have the volume in the trade size, check it again for a dictionary. If you are going to spend some money on a dictionary I recommend Zhodiates New Testament and Word Study Dictionary (together in one volume). It goes much further than strongs in distinguishing between different usages of the same word. But check it first...he may have a volume out that contains the NASB, and I know this would be unacceptable to you as a biblical reference, but the index numebrs are the same as the Strongs KJV index numbers, so the dictionary part is the same. He may also have just the dictionary in a volume by itself.
