Conscience is determined by the conventions of a social grouping as I see it.

I believe that it is a mistake assume that development of the conscience is ended by age 6-7.  The essentials of its fully expressed development are there, to be sure, but any time passionate impute occurs from a source we love, respect or fear, amendment (change) to the conscience may  occur  --  depending upon the willed determination of the individual.   Pattern activity is at the heart of change to a well formed conscience.
