I hear that sin is sin and no sin is greater than another. Jonathan seems to be using this concept here in this post. Can anyone give me Scriptural evidence for this belief?

Greetings Slade.  As I am sure you know, one unforgiven sin will send the sinner to Hell for all eternity, be it idolatry or stealing a paper clip.  That confuses some people into thinking that all sins are equal.  The Biblical truth is that some sins are greater than others. (Matt.23:14, Mark 12:38-40, Luke 20:46-47, James 3:1.  Just as there is greater faith, greater rewards, and greater works, there are degrees of sin, from unintentional sins on one end of the scale, to abominations on the other.  There is no scriptural evidence for any other opinion that I am able to discern.
