DAVEH: Sorry to disappoint you, Judy. FWIW....I'm not the most
sensitive (or even spiritual) guy you'll meet. However, despite my
attempt at bringing a little humor to TT, you will notice at the end of
my original comment I expressed a sad face, to express my concern of
the sad state of affairs the world is in at the moment. Perhaps TT is
the wrong place to joke around like that. My apologies if I offended
you or anybody else.

DAVEH: FWIW......Yes, my comment was intended to have a double
meaning. Lance did not misunderstand my attempt at macabre humor. I
was referring to both that (the disconnected head syndrome) as well as
the TV commentator inference.
Down here a
"talking head" is exactly that. A head that talks on TV, IOW an expert
or commentator. On some programs you see the screen divided into four
sections and you can view four "talking heads" at one time. As for the
"decision to invade" it is past history now and our young military men
are paying a "terrible" price. The man who lost his head was a
civilian. I pray you will eventually understand "peace from a position
of strength" It is impossible to reason or use statecraft with
terrorists. People willing to do what they are doing are capable of
anything and nothing conceded will ever be enough. I guess the US
could just decide to walk out as they did in Vietnam but this time the
war is here. 9/11 has forever changed the playing field.
