Hey ya have a phone!!! My cell service is so sporadic I quit trying to call anyone. Where are you going for Sukkot? I can't find anyplace down here (that I'm willing to go to!!). I thought about going up to Daniel Bodkins, but Illinois is too far. I figure thats where you guys would be heading. I kinda wanted to see Eric,Suzie,Barb,Daniel, etc., but that will have to wait until next year. I'm going up to Blacksburg, VA. to see an old friend instead. It is just a family affair, but I need a break from these hurricanes!  And Tiff & Nicole are coming down from Wisconsin.

We have power, phone (house), no damage to our house. Some of our neighbors have some damage. We have no cell phone for now as the cell tower on my cellular company was taken out. We're leaving for Sukkot anyhow, so there will be an available cell tower further North.

What do you believe, John? Does God, or does He not, have that power (to dissolve storms)? Can/should Believers pray for God to do that? Does God do anything on earth without prayer from Believers? Izzy

God created storms Iz.  They fit into His plan.  Some humans suffer, some humans benefit, but I suspect that there are more important environmental reasons not related to who loses and who wins.

So you think we should not pray against devastating storms? Do you think they are ever sent by the devil and not by God? Just wondering. Izzy

Interesting thought.  The devil is the prince of this world, but God created this earth and in my opinion, God maintains it.  Men have for years allowed sewage and lawn fertilizer and phosphates and factory waste to pollute our bays and rivers.  It seems to me that the Lord flushes these waters out from time to time to prevent them from becoming septic, and at the same time, providing nutrients to larger bodies of water that can use them in a diluted form.

As to praying, I just follow the Lord's teaching. ( Give us what we need for today, and Thy will be done. )  He has the plan.  I just go along for the ride.  (I don't tell Him what to do; He tells me what to do. )  That does not mean that I never make a request.  I asked for healing for Jenna for example, but only if it is within God's will.  He knows His plan for her far better than I do.

It is not a question of His power or my faith.  It is something similar to watching a master craftsman do what he does best.  I just sit back and marvel at His expertise, and say in an awed whisper, "Wow ain't He somethin'?"
