Silence is as strong an argument for as against. However, Paul made comment(s) regarding his being a persecutor of the Ekklesia. Is this the sign of a guilty conscience? On this point, I must say that because I would feel guilty does not mean that this has to be Paul's experience. His mention of his role in the persecution of the Assembly is not a proud admission of his involvement..... I am sure of that. Perhaps there are lessons to be learned from Paul concerning mistaken commitment but commitment nonetheless, and the understanding of God in that regard. There is so much that left unsaid. John |
