There were synagogue here and there who were bothered by The Way because of Gentile Inclusion... after all what is one to do with the uncircumcised?? But the final split occurred during the Bar Kochba revolution when the Messianic backed out of support when R. Akiva declared Bar Kochba to be Messiah. When did the Synagogue becomes off limits to the Ekklesia.   It certainly is today.   Your point above seems to be a good one.   You know that the traditional view point for me is that after 70 A.D.  and the death of the Messiah as King idea,  things changed rather quickly for the Jewish community and the Christian community.   JD
